New Billboard & Ad Highlights PP Carnage

In late July of 2005, Pro-Life Waco displayed a new billboard to challenge Planned Parenthood of Central Texas. Traveling on Sanger Avenue toward Valley Mills Drive, the billboard can be viewed at the 4800 block of Sanger. On August 27, 2005, a similar message was printed as an advertisement in the Waco Tribune-Herald.

The billboard features a lovely picture of a baby with the message: Choose Life! Last year in Waco over 1200 pre-born babies were killed by Planned Parenthood.

The number for unborn babies killed (and mothers wounded) comes from the PPCT “Service Report” for 2004 as published in their Summer/Spring 2005 newsletter. In that issue, our local Planned Parenthood proudly proclaimed that they had performed 633 surgical abortions in 2004. They also boasted of 606 RU-468 chemical abortions.

The Waco Trib rejected our ad with the word “killed” in the ad.  After some negotiation, they accepted the word “aborted.”

One more note about the sad state of affairs in Central Texas.  In the newsletter proclaiming the infliction of 1,239 abortions in 2004, PPCT announced that they had received a $45,000 grant from the Central Texas Race for the Cure Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  Komen makes a grant to an abortion clinic--even while a fair reading of the research shows that abortion elevates the risk of contracting breast cancer.
